Why visit the Marica?Location: our little hotel is just a quarter of an hour from Bolzano and is nevertheless situated in a uniquely peaceful, sunny and central location for all kinds of sports in the Dolomites. Skiing: the Obereggen ski resort is one of the most popular ski resorts in South Tyrol, whilst on the other side of the Latemar is Lake Karersee, the sunniest ski resort. Furthermore, the surrounding area is also home to the following ski resorts: Cermis, Alpe Lusia, Pellegrino, Jochgrimm and the famous ski resorts around the Sellastock and the Marmolada. Every week we accompany our guests on two guided skiing trips. Snowboarding and freestyling: at the heart of the ski resort is its fantastic snow park, which has been awarded the ADAC's highest points score, and which offers all degrees of difficulty plus a half pipe. Cross Country Skiing: Lavazè - the name alone quickens the pulses of fans of this sport. 50 km of marked trails and a 360º view from Venice to the Grossglockner mountain - and here too there is a cross country skiing school and ski rental shop. Snow shoes and winter hiking: Several winter hiking routes in the local area are always maintained and anyone who wants to tramp through the snow on their own initiative can borrow snow shoes from us free of charge or take part in our guided snowshoe hikes. Tobogganing: The NEW toboggan track is accessible on foot or by cable car daily and at night 3x a week. Toboggans can be hired from Siegfried at the valley station. Night-time skiing: On Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays it is possible to ski at night-time too, and all included in the normal ski pass. Relaxing: far away from the hurly burly and noise, we live in another world here - all of our rooms are light and generously proportioned. There is no through traffic in Eggen and at most you'll hear foxes and rabbits saying good night to one another, whilst if you were to dance naked from the sauna once in a while, you wouldn't disturb a soul. We also use local herbs in our spa treatments. Enjoy: Since we joined the VITALPINA hotels, you'll find that even more local specialities from the kitchen and wine cellar are arriving at your table, and now and again we might surprise you with a wine tasting. Back country skiing: our mountain guides offer spectacular tours to the rock faces, and last but not least: shopping and the arts in a region of different civilisations - this is reflected in the fashion, culture, food, drink and the entire way of life… P.S.
